Petite Swap & Shop

I recently hosted the first official "Petite Swap & Shop," a curated and styled clothing swap here in NYC. I have always been a proponent of "shopping in your own closet" and even "shopping in your friend's closet," so this swap was the perfect kickoff event for Petite Rachelle.

The guidelines were simple: every attendee had to bring at least five items from their closet to contribute to the swap, keeping in mind the condition and appeal. Not only did everyone bring at least five items, but I was flooded with e-mails and texts from people who wanted to drop off bags full of items! People contributed everything from gently used purses and shoes to jewelry and jackets, and plenty of clothing to go around.

I think it's safe to say the swap was a success. With over 100 items up for grabs, the attendees spent an afternoon styling, swapping, and sipping champagne. With pieces from Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Diane von Furstenburg, Lululemon, Gap, H&M, Forever 21, JCrew, Levi's, Chloe, Loft, and more, everyone left with new pieces to love. The items also spanned sizes and styles, so there was truly a #petitepick for everyone! All of the remaining items from the swap will be donated to Housing Works, an incredible organization that funds lifesaving services for homeless and low income men, women, and youth living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

In this post I wanted to feature some of the event attendees and their fabulous new finds! Check out these styling and smiling ladies rocking their #petiteswap pieces. All swapped item details are listed below.

So many people I work with have closets full of clothing but never wear half of the things they own, leaving items hanging unused in fashion purgatory forever (and those closet clean outs just never seem to happen). A clothing swap is the perfect motivation to get rid of the old items that aren't getting use and fall in love with the new items that will! Want to make it to the next #petiteswap? Make sure to sign up below and be the first to know!
